Correspondence with my landlady - My trip to India.... in February 2011
I kept the best for the end… I am renting a 2 BHK but one door is locked. So naturally my landlady invited herself for 3 weeks. Has she lost her marbles??? It pissed me off so bad!!
Dear Emilie,
I have plans to travel to India for 6 weeks i.e. (3rd Feb to mid March). It is just me alone coming down for some urgent work in Mumbai and Goa. I will be in Mumbai for 3 weeks and Goa 3 weeks.
I will need to use my bedroom for 3 weeks whilst I am in Mumbai, as all my things are there.
I was wondering if you are having any business trips coming up.... so that I can plan my itinerary accordingly.
I know you travel a lot and so I thought, if I were to plan my mumbai stay accordingly, I wouldn't cause you much disturbance.
I don't need to be in Mumbai continously for 3 weeks..... I could split it ( 2 weeks and 1 week).
Kind regards
XY

Correspondence with my landlady- Pet Policy
I was nice enough to ask if I could keep a cat. What is this stupid excuse of saying it might create a problem (with the ugly, old and handicapped) neighbour dog. That thing can not even walk!
We have not had any guest have pets on the premises, as I and my older son are allergic to cat fur.
However my younger son Troy has a pet cat Frodo and he has just won our hearts.
(and of course ruined our furniture ... using it as a scratch post !)
The next door people have a dog and I am not sure how this would work...
They would try any "excuses" to make problems.
I understand you are alone and would love a pet... but if you could hold it for some time ... I should be down and we could talk about it then.
You take care.
Love and best wishes

Correspondence with my landlady - Neighbour
I dropped a mail to inform my landlady that any time I would come home, the neighbour would leave the door ajar and spy on me. What the fuck??
Emilie, I do know you are a very decent and respectable person. I understand what you say.
The neighbour, Mr. D'Souza is the secretary of the society. He and his family are very nice people but they tend to be nosy and tend to be the watchdog of the society, as he gets questioned by the other members of the committee.
He had informed me that there is another girl living in the apartment and had told me that no one other than yourself should be living in the flat, as they have police clearance only for you. Should anyone else be living in the flat, we need by law to get police clearance for each one of them.
I had told him that you have a friend visiting you for a short time and that she would be leaiving soon.
Emilie, we should have no problems, as long as we dont have anyone besides yourself living in the flat. You did tell me that your boyfriend will be visiting you and that is fine.
As far as your safety is concerned, I can assure you that this family next door are very decent and that you have nothing to worry.
The only thing we could do Emilie, is to ignore these nosy people and soon they will realise themselves what a good and decent neighbour they have.
